Colloquium "Colombia today: arts, heritage, urbanities, tourism The colloquium "Colombia today: arts, patrimonies, urbanities, tourism" will take place on 13 and 14 November 2017 at the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne. It aims at taking stock of the multiple and changing realities of a country undergoing radical restructuring, which Europe and France are now rediscovering in all their richness and diversity. This colloquium is open to all public, it is required to register by mail to america@univ-paris1.fr or else on this platform. Themes Arts Colombia is the site of an abundant artistic production. The colloquium seeks not only to highlight it but also to question the conditions of its production, the actors involved (artists, cultural operators, public and private actors, institutions, civil society), the spaces in which it flourishes, the pitfalls it faces today. This part will be accompanied by an exhibition that will be deployed throughout the Panthéon center.
The wealth of heritage in Colombia (natural or cultural, tangible or intangible) is the foundation of economic, social and cultural development projects. The symposium will seek to follow recent developments in the notion of heritage in the country and the ways of patrimonialization, discussed here as a social construction. Who are the actors of heritage? How are heritages used in identity constructions (national, local, ethnic, cultural)? In what ways are they used as elements of development?
The question of cities in Colombia is currently undergoing an extraordinary renewal. Marked until recently by a negative imaginary, linked to risks and violence - real or fantasized - they are currently undergoing profound changes. Having become laboratories of the conception of a new urbanity, they question us by the multiplicity of processes that see the light of day: urban experiments - such as tactical urban planning, urban acupuncture or the fight against crime through town planning social - architectural projects, reconversions and renovations, urban citizen participation, all lends itself to an analysis of these processes and their dynamics, both in the main cities of the country (Bogota, Medellin) and in the many historic colonial buildings .
Digital One of the salient aspects of the collaboration between France and Colombia is the digital theme. In this respect it is important to emphasize that the information society is often absent from academic reflection when it has major challenges in terms of citizen participation or emancipation of the citizen. Colombia and France have their own experiences of new information technologies, which have a major impact on the evolution of society and public policies in these two countries. This perspective will also be explored during the two colloquies organized within the framework of the two scientific events France Colombia 2017 of the University Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne.
Colombia has been opening up tourism for a few years. It values a set of resources that go beyond the classic offer sometimes limited to cruises. The valorisation of heritages, the creation of new infrastructures, the organization or reorganization of markets, are currently particularly interesting processes to observe and analyze. The colloquium will examine the way in which the country opens up to the world (the opportunities and the difficulties, even the conflicts), the in-depth work done at the level of the image in order to build an attractive destination, the restructuring of networks transport, airport connections and infrastructure.
These cross-cutting and interdisciplinary issues take on a particular importance today in the context of profound social and political changes in Colombia. These different themes will be explored in two specific formats, both through scientific conferences and through artistic exhibitions. The valorisation of scientific work will also take different forms, with the publication of the best articles, filmed sessions and the digital distribution of these days. Program |
